Overview
When you arrive for your first dental visit, you will receive a warm greeting from our team. We have been expecting you, and from the moment you arrive, you will be treated with personal attention and genuine concern for your comfort and well-being.
Your dental and medical history will be thoroughly reviewed and discussed with you. You will be asked about any specific dental concerns you have regarding your dental health. A series of digital x-rays will be taken and examined for signs of dental disease or decay. We recommend a detailed scan using DIAGNO-dent digital scanner to check for early signs of tooth decay.
You will receive a thorough dental cleaning, polishing, and examination of your gum health. Patients with risk factors for gum disease may elect to have an oral DNA screening, which relies on advanced technology, to test for damaging periodontal bacteria and disease. Taking advantage of these high tech screenings can have a big impact on the prevention and early intervention of damaging gum disease.
Your dental examination will also include a visual and tactile inspection of your teeth and gums in order to screen for any dental problems. An oral cancer screening is recommended on an annual basis for all patients over the age of 18.
You will have a consultation with Dr. Jerry Dunn to address your dental health concerns, plan for needed treatment, or begin a plan for a dental makeover.
